HELP! Stacker 2.0

Hi all,
I have a friend who has stacker 2.0 installed on his hard drive.
Apparently his brother turned off the computer (an IBM PS/2) while
still in windows. Now when he boots up, he gets a message like
"updating allocation table....." or something like that, and
cannot write to his c: drive. I don't know much about stacker,
but it sounds as if it write protected his hard drive (possibly
by making the STACVOL.DSK read-only?). Anyway, you can see his
predicament (sp?), he can't write anything to his hard drive. If
anyone out there has experienced this problem or knows how to fix it
PLEASE e-mail me quickly (he does not have an internet address).
