I don't expect hand holding. I know where the plug is and how to turn
on the machine. (Though I might add here that Gateway 2000 puts some
of the best user documentation I've seen from a mail-order house.) I
do, however, expect prompt customer service, especially on matters
concerning unfulfilled orders.

Since my initial posting, I have been able to get in touch with
Gateway and talk to a real, live human being. It seems that they
finally got the information they needed from UPS regarding the lost
order, and ordered replacement software for me.

I was glad to hear of Mr. Malloy's positive experience with Gateway.
It lends credence to the possibility that my experience with this
software was an anomaly. Maybe I will buy that CD-ROM drive from
them later this month or next.
