I am after some sort of external 3.5" floppy drive system that doesn't require
drivers, is bootable and mobile.

I have seen systems available where the ribbon cable that normally goes to the
drive instead goes to a 25 pin socket at the back. The power also goes out
through this connector. The floppy then connects to this connector.

The main aim of this is to remove the floppy drives from our operator
stations on our process lines. With this system you can connect the floppy as
an ordinary floppy without pulling the case apart. But at the end of the day,
you can remove the drive.

Anyway, any info on potential products would be most appreciated.

Thanx

Steve
