I can't answer that for you. However, if an HP5L produced a
recognisable image from the file, it has to be in a language the printer
understands for describing the contents of a page. If it's not text,
it's not PostScript. Therefore it must be another page description
language understood by an HP5L, which would make it PCL5, the HP page
description format.
