The HP5MP is a :>postscript version, and is compatable with either platform. Specifically, the 5P only speaks PCL and only has the parallel port interface needed for use with a PC. The 5MP has the parallel port and PCL, but also has Postscrip Level 2 and an Appletalk port. On a PC, this means that it can be used either with an HP PCL driver for printing in PCL, or with a Postscript driver for printing either Level 2 or Level 1 Postscript. I specifically purchased the 5MP for its Postscript capabilities and use it with my PC running OS/2 Warp with 2 printer objects, one for PCL and one for Postscript. (The Postscript driver gives much better results with Quark.) Hope this helps.
