Equations

I have followed a couple of discussions on setting up
mathematical equations in word perfect, but have never been very
successful in doing so with the 5.1 tools. Part of my problem is not
having a mouse.

However, I have been pretty successful using one of the companion
systems, of which there are several. I would like to ask those who may
have already been into some prior to WP51 whether they continue to do
so, or whether they have switched to the wp51 tools.

The system I am presently using is called "Mathedit" and can
be obtained from K-Talk in Columbus Ohio (614-294-3535). It seems to
have the ability to fairly easily construct reasonably large equations
and create files which can then be integrated into Word Perfect (or a
number of other Word Processors). I have heard one report that says
the text is better from Mathedit if you have a dot matrix printer, but
just the same if Postscript. I have also heard (and experienced) that
adjusting the location of mathematical symbols is easier in Mathedit.

If you want to try this particular one (what are the others in
use and how do they work?) I put a copy of their demo disk on
anonymous ftp.fsu.edu as ~/pub/cain/mathedit.exe. This can be
retrieved with a get in binary mode and then "exploded" by executing
the file.

Oh, I should mention that all this discussion is in reference
to ibm pc clones, not Mac's or unix, etc.
