You can also perform a similiar operation on either the currently
built /unix file or on the /etc/conf/pack.d/ip/Driver.o file
via either adb (if you have the development system)
or /etc/_fst (if you do not have it).
If the /unix file is patched with adb or _fst, then it is not necessary
to change the two ip parameters when tcp/ip is started. However, if the
kernel is relinked, then you would need to re-patch /unix.
If the Driver.o file is patched, then everytime the kernel is linked,
the patch is already in place.
Here is the steps to follow (Comments in UPPER CASE):
1. Login as root.
2. # adb -w /unix
or
# etc/_fst -w /unix
or
# adb -w /etc/conf/pack.d/ip/Driver.o
or
# /etc/_fst -w /etc/conf/pack.d/ip/Driver.o
3. * ipforwarding/D THIS WILL DISPLAY THE CURRENT SETTING
4. * ipforwarding/W 0 THIS SETS IT TO 0
5. * ipsendredirects/D THIS WILL DISPLAY THE CURRENT SETTING
6. * ipsendredirects/W 0 THIS SETS IT TO 0
7. If the Driver.o file was modified, relink the kernel and reboot.
If the /unix file was modified, just reboot.
