Well, it's currently connected to a 65MB original MFM drive that was in an old
Elonex 386-20 machine. It's huge too (about 10" x 6" x 4") - it's amazing how
things have shrunk! The original Amstrad drive died and does not seem to
respond well after reformatting. It's okay for a while but then loses data
bits - so I have shelved it.

The MFM drive is type 28 (I think) but the Amstrad BIOS, as I explained,
doesn't know about them. I think it is currently using type 4, but it is so
SLOW (transfer rate about 32Kbytes/s...honest!) that I am not sure what to do
except get a new disk with a BIOS on-board.
