As far as I know, my AMI Mark II motherboard does not support a TURBO
switch. The only way to change speeds is through the keyboard. There
is a connection from the board to support a display device, which I used
to connect to the turbo led and display on my case. It sounds like your
turbo switch and light are connected together and not to a remote line.
In my situation, I had to make numerous adjustments before I got the
display and polarity of the various wires to match the motherboard. My
turbo switch operates independently of the display - needless to say, it
sits there doing little except allow me to fiddle.
