Whether this is to accommadate Macs, I dont know. However, it has been connected to a PC since we bought it 12 months ago, and hasnt showed any Mac tendencies yet. Cheers, Rod Shannon.

Correct, the *difference* is that the "M" models are Postscript (as well as PCL and HPGL). But the letter stands for "Macintosh" for some dimly considered reason. -- * James Gifford * jgifford@crl.com * Doing Tomes sans Pomes since 1986! * *-----------------------------------------------------------------------* * See http://www.crl.com/~jgifford for the Heinlein FAQ, ordering * * info for _Robert A. But the letter stands for "Macintosh" for some dimly : considered reason. I think the reason is that the 5MP has a localtalk connector and the 5P doesn't. So the 5MP is much easier to connect to a Mac than the 5P. So, the 5MP is both Mac and postscript, but also works with a PC. Anyone confused. Richard.
