**** IMPORTANT **** If you are outside southwestern British Columbia, Canada or northwestern Washington state, U.S.A., please ignore this message. (I have attempted to limit distribution to the appropriate region, but some news servers ignore distribution restrictions on the posting.) **** End of disclaimer **** For those of you still reading: B.C.'s longest-running personal computing event, the PACIFIC COAST COMPUTER FAIR AND SWAP MEET is back once again, for its 17th year! Time and date: Saturday, 19 Oct, 10am to 4pm Location: McPherson Centre, 7325 MacPherson Ave., Burnaby (near Metrotown, south of Kingsway and east of Royal Oak) Admission: Only $3.00 (no coupons required!) The swap meet portion of the Fair will consist of 50 to 60 vendors with a total of about 80 tables. Vendors will be selling new and used computer equipment, ranging from the latest technology to "I remember when..." technology. On the software side, there will be CD-ROMs, shareware, and assorted applications and games for various makes of computers. Also present will be companies offering computer-related services. Several local computer user groups will also be putting on displays. These can be a great source of (mostly) unbiased information. Find out from actual users what they think of hardware, software, or services. There will be door prize draws. Food and beverages are available on-site. The Fair is run by the Pacific Coast Computer Fair Association (PCCFA), a non-profit society of volunteers drawn from the local personal computing community. It is in no way associated with any of the commercially-run computer swap meets being operated in British Columbia. Vendor tables are available at $45 each if paid prior to Sept. 30th and $60 each thereafter. To reserve your table(s), call 604-420-3286. Our web site is "www.pccfa.org". It is a work in progress, but we hope to shortly have current information on the vendors attending and the door prizes to be given away, plus some background on the PCCFA. Remember, we only run a single Fair each year, so if you miss this one you'll have to wait a whole twelve months!
