Programming the Adlib sound card

Hello,

I'm interested in writing a C/C++ library to handle the Adlib sound
card. What I would like to do is have the ability to play .ROL files in
the background according to the (sparse) information given in the Adlib
programmer's manual.
Specifically, I need to know what interrupts to use in order to
accurately time the playing of an .ROL files. My guess is that I will
have to reprogram the timer interrupt (0x08 ?) to have enough
resolution.
If anyone has any information, esp. source code, I would be VERY
appreciative of any suggestions or information regrading the Adlib
board. I know that there are .ROL players on the net, but I need to
integrate this functionality into other programs.

Thanks,
   Kevin Huber
