djb@wjh12.UUCP (David J. Birnbaum) <482@wjh12.harvard.edu> : -About a week ago I posted an inquiry about the relative merits of checking -the keyboard shift status by reading 0:0417 directly or using the available -int 16h function. Here is the summary I promised: - -==================================== -Use Int 16. -==================================== - -Nobody could think of any good reason for refusing to use the BIOS -services. This makes me wonder about an issue I just got done dealing with, namely software forcing of the scrolllock & numlock values. Is there a BIOS means of doing this, or must I diddle 0000:0417 to control these? Or am I a terrible person for *wanting* to change these values? :-)
