Drawing vectors on HP IIP
#21

Hi Netters(tm),

I've got this problem of having to draw simple vectors on an HP IIP laser
printer. The scenario is this: The page consists of a lot of text with one
area containing a simple graph (just a few connected lines). If I position
the `cursor' at the last printing position, can I simply enter graphics mode
and start `plotting'? I've figure that lines may be drawn with relative (or
absolute if that's required) cursor motions (+/-x dots, etc) and points
plotted by drawing 1x1 dot rectangles (yes, utterly yech). The only problem
is this: it does not work!

Note: I do *not* want to generate a full bitmap and download that!

Question(s): Do I have to be in graphic mode to draw the
rectangles? I've only got a User's Manual, no Programmer's Manual, so it
only lists the command codes. Will the `define rectangle height, define
rectangle with, fill rectangle (Esc*c#a#b2P) sequence do the `plot'? Will
the move cursor with relative coordinates (ie. # prefixed with +/-) work for
move the plot position?

Alternatively: Has somebody perhaps got sample code to show how the vectors
can be done?

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Andries
