Changing the Mouse Cursor

Greetings!

I am attempting to do some graphics programming on my PC (25MHz 386).
I would like to load a small color graphics image (PCX, GIF,
whatever!) as the mouse cursor. I know that this is possible as I
have seen it done by other packages (ex. Grasp), but I have no idea
how this may be done. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!
