Which speaker system?

I'm just about to get a new SBLive Platinum sound card and have decided to
replace my dated old stereo speakers. Can someone explain the difference
between the 'Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Theatre 5.1', the 'Cambridge
Soundworks Desktop Theatre 2500d' and the 'VideoLogic Digitheatre'.

In other words which is the best for build quality, quality of sound and
features.

Thanks

Ian Young.

I recently shopped around for speakers to go with my SBLive! Settled on the
Klipsch ProMedias and they rock. 4 channels @ 60 watts each (analog
connections from the Live!) and a sub at 160 watts. Everything sounds
awesome-including games, CD's, MIDI and my electric guitar (through a
Digitech RP7 and the Live!)

I considered the DTT2500 but it seemed underpowered-will you watch movies at
your PC? Can't comment on the Videologic.

Incidently, after my purchase I saw a review of 7 multi-media oriented
speaker systems in the November 99 (printed) issue of StereoReview's
Sound&Vision www.soundandvisionmag.com and they spoke nice about the
ProMedias... I think the reviews at the Klipsch website are pretty accurate
as well.

Good luck,

Randy

Cool. I've been playing my guitar through mine (running in from a digitech
rp7 valve as well) I like the added bass my subwoofer puts out but still am
not totally pleased with the sound quality of my speakers. (benwin satalites
and a benwin sufwoofer)

Well, I'm not sure about the 5.1's but I did try the FPS2000's and returned
them the very next day. They didn't sound as good as my ALtec Lansing
ACS48's. The sub woofer just couldn't match that powerful Altec unit. I
think I'd go for those new Klipsch ProMedia speakers. All reviews praise
them and they certainly have power behind them. I'd grab a set but it would
cost me a fortune to get them into Canada. About $430 bucks Canadian, ouch!
