My computer (HP M1090n, with Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS) has a digital coaxial input, and my Sony DAT deck has only a digital optical output. I need to transfer music files to my computer to burn CD's. Thus, I need an optical to coaxial converter. I see a bunch advertised on EBay and elsewhere on the internet. Are there any significant quality differences, are these essentially generic items? If some are better than others, which do you recommend? Is there a loss of quality in making the conversion? Thanks.
