I have a sound blaster Audigy connected to a Yamaha RX-V596RDS home cinema
decoder via the digital output.

In the Creative Surround Mixer if I set to 4 or 5.1 channels my decoder
still says it's receiving Dolby Pro Logic and the sound test comes only from
the front left and front right!? (Only in DVDs can I get Dolby Digital or
DTS coming through)

How can I get all 5.1 speakers working in games, etc, to make full use of
the EAX effects?

Interestingly the game Deus Ex's Dolby Surround option only works if
'hardware 3D support' is disabled in the game. Also the EAX effects seem to
start working then too? I then get sound from the rears with the surround
mixer set to 2, 4 or 5.1 speakers. - I assume because the game is bypassing
this?

Any help / elucidation MUCH appreciated.
