If anyone can crack the following problem they will have my undying gratitude. I have just tried moving my SB16 SCSI from one computer to the other, the only problem is that in the process of doing so I seem to have lost the ability to run sound effects or play wav files. However, if I try and play music either from a CD or within a program such as Wolfenstein it still works OK. I'm using Win95 and all setting have been put to SB standards (I've tried changing the interrupt) The stupid thing is that when I try and play a wav file in Win95, I can visually see it being played, but nothing comes out of the speakers. I thought I might have disturbed a couple of jumpers, I found a couple on the floor, but when I checked the card against the normal setup on the Creative site, it all looks ok. Is it possible for a part of a card to die, or is this some weird configuration error. Help appreciated - to put it mildly Brian Brian Sheehan Bristol, England ------------------------------------- briansheehanXXX.hotmail.com (please take XXX out before replying) -------------------------------------

Wolfenstein 3D uses FM for the music (I seem to remember).
You *have* checked that the mixer settings have the faders up for
wave, and that the wave channel is enabled?
The other thing to check is that the IRQ for the card in Win95
matches that set by the DOS drivers.

Harry.

Yes - its Win95, and there's no telling how its going to set the
mixer. If it failed to detect the wave device it could even disable
it.

There is no substitute for actualy checking the values against
each other. Win95 has a nasty habit of claiming that IRQs and
suchlike are right on soundcards, when they are manifestly wrong.

Harry.
