I recently acquired a new Maxtor 203 Mb IDE drive.  I've got it tied into my
system as a slave to a Seagate ST1144A drive.  I'm running on a 486/25
system, and it has been locking up oodles since I've put in the new drive.

After some investigation, I've noticed that if I remove the second drive
from my CMOS (but still leave it in the machine) I have no problems.  This
also works if I switch the Maxtor to be the master and use the Seagate as
the slave.

Also, if I drop my processor speed to 20 Mhz, I don't seem to have a
problem.  I tried dropping my bus speed from 8.3 Mhz to 6.25 Mhz, and it did
work better but not perfectly.

Finally, Win 3.1 used to be able to access my Seagate drive using it's 32
bit access.  With both drives in, it not longer can.

I'm trying to reach Seagate and Maxtor, but I've been unsuccessful so far.
Any help you all can offer would be greatly appreciated.
