The nice thing about Prodigy is the diversity of its user community.
These people are not all computer jocks, they're not all college
students and/or grads, they're not all anything in particular, they're
just regular folks.  I enjoy talking to them.  Prodigy is not a
substitute for the Internet -- it's more like talk radio in written
form.  Not for everyone, I suppose, but I wouldn't be without it.

A word about the commercials and commercialism: if you can't stand to
watch TV because of the commercials, I guess I understand your dislike
of Prodigy, but like commercial TV, those ads are keeping Prodigy's
price very reasonable, and like TV, I ignore them most of the time
anyway.  On occasion, however, the various on-line shopping services
are very useful and convenient, and all in all I'm glad they're there.
