netnews readers for DOS?

I'm looking for a DOS-based netnews reader, similar to NewsWatcher or
TheNews on the Mac side of the world.
Any info or recommendations for shareware or public domain software that is
available via ftp?
Apologies if this is a FAQ or just a stupid question - I'm a Mac guy by
nature (actually by employment), so I'm not very familiar with the PC-based
software world.
e-mail response would be appreciated, but I'll check for any follow-up
postings here as well...
Thanks
Daniel S.

I'm using a very good reader for DOS called TRUMPET. Unfortunately the version I have only works on a network. I don't know if there is a version for use with a modem. The author is Peter Tattam.
