Everybody has the right to post whatever price he wants. Its a free country and you decide the profit that suits you best. Remember though that the .forsale newsgroup is not only made for sellers but also for buyers. Everybody has the right to warn others of rip-offs! And myself for one, I am glad that I don't have to check and double check every time I want to buy something from the net because rip-offs like the one you tried to do (not on purpose I hope) are promptly detected and brought to the open. If you really did not know the actual value of your modem, just apologize and give a reasonable one. -marios ---------------------------------------------------------------- In article <2gk158$444@divot.umiacs.umd.edu> pr@umiacs.umd.edu (Jesus M. You might just buy it >at a very good price! > >Dave Rogers Thank you Dave. When I originally made the price for that post I didn't know the going rate for the modem. I did see it for $75 in Computer Shopper, so I made it $60.00 in hopes that someone might offer me $40 or something. SO far everything else I was selling went that way, so why not the modem. And I do believe that a private email is the best way to tell someone their price is too high, instead of plastering it all over usenet. Jesus M.
