Hi all.

Like many others, I have run out of serial ports.

I would like to make up a cable to attach my MS-Mouse (Serial) to my
motherboard's PS/2 connector.

Pinouts I have so far are:

On MB:

1	+5VDC
2	GND
3	MDATA
4	MCLK

From Mouse, Only pins 2,3,5 and 7 are active.

2	RD
3	TD
5	GND
7	RTS

Anyone know the magic combination to wire these up so the PC will find
a PS/2 Mouse?

Thanks

Steve

You NEED a PS/2 mouse to connect to a PS/2 Port, if you connect a Serial
Mouse it WILL NOT work.

BUT some Mice including the GENUINE Microsoft mice, will operate in both
modes with the adapter supplied.

It sounds like you'll need to buy a PS/2 mouse. The Logitech one's aern't
bad and are fairly cheap.

Regards
Matthew
