I remember Borland copyrighting the names Turbo-Assembler, Turbo-C, Turbo-Modula, and even Turbo-Ada (I think) long before they came out with these products. Also I think you can copyright just about every word you want to (e.g. "rabbit" as in Volkswagen's Rabbit), even your own name (e.g. Calvin Klein, Dior, Chanel) or some acronym you came up with (e.g. USX). Maybe copyrighting isn't exactly the right word here, but there is some sort of legal protection for registered product names (trademarks?). Maybe some legal expert could comment on this. > BTW, two different products can use the same (copyrighted) name > as long as there is no chance of confusion. Yup! Example: In Germany Opel (the German subsidiary of GM) sells a car named Vectra, while HP sells their Vectra PCs. No chance of confusion!
