As Far as your system is concerned, overdrive does not apply to you; that term is used for 486SX's. Yes you can pull out the 486DX-33 and put in the 66Mhz chip. I don't know the price, but I can imagine that they are high since they were just introduced. If you just bought your 486-33, I imagine that you have about 4Megs of RAM right now. Upgrading to 8 will probably give you more performance than a new chip, which will only get cheaper (I know RAM will get cheaper too). The thing to remember is that 66Mhz chip only speeds up processes that stay within the chip. Thus, if you do mostly word processing, spreadsheeting, and database work, you won't see a dramatic improvement (and of course anything that uses your hard drive excessively will not benefit from any chip upgrade unless you do something to speed your hard disk retreival). --Trevor Tompkins
