Some comments based on your post:

Though Intel should definately not have kept you waiting it hardly sounds
like they have failed to replace the chip.

The Intel WWW site has a press release dated approximately the 20th of
December. It clearly states the position of Intel was to replace all
such faulty chips on demand and Intel's faxback service in Australia
has similar material on it. It also explains what should be clear to
learned computing people that production of sufficient quantities of
corrected chips takes time. I don't have the address for Intel handy
(it's in my office) but should anyone want to have a look then please
email me and I will provide the information.

What happened when you recontacted them? (Assuming you did.)

What is the nature of your work that is so intense as to be likely to
hit the 1 in 9 billion computational error and for which you redeveloped
an application for on the Mac? Incidentally, which Mac did you purchase
which provides processing capabilities similar to that of the Pentium?

If Intel break their commitment and REALLY fail to replace your chip, then
please tell the world, otherwise ......
