The TYAN Titan III claims to support 200MHz clockspeeds. It also has 6
SIMM slots and a reasonable price tag of $249 from Motherboards
International? I think - definitely in the Computer Shopper somewhere.
It uses Award BIOS, has an Irda port - has a weird PS2 mouse port I
think.
They also claim to have one of the fastest boards out (but I am a little
confused by some of the stuff they said re: performance since it seems
to apply more to the Titan II which had a different Cache scheme?? I
wonder how close the Titan III is in performance)
see http:/www.tyan.com for more info
I have been considering it closely - the SuperMicro and Micronics
compare well but are also more $$$.
I priced some pentium 133Mhz and I was getting quotes as low as $555 and
upto $699. A little confused by the spread.
someone mentioned the P6 will be out in Jan 96 and the P5 chips will
drop again then???<gosip gosip>
note: this stuff is just what I heard - I am not affiliated with anyone -
just getting ready to make a purchase for myself. YMMV
