For all fans of the sandpile.org, the world's leading website for full
technical information on all known modern 80x86 processors, here is my
news update for this week:

Since Intel released the new Pentium with MMX technology to the public
on January 8th 1997, I have updated the entire information on my site,
to reflect the latest information available. This includes

- list of P55C manuals with order numbers available at Intel's website
- list of all known P55C steppings and their package markings (faked?)
- list of all known P55C bugs (and updates for the P54C bug list also)
- updated Pentium MSR table to reflect the P55C-versus-P54C difference
- updated P55C event list for Performance Monitoring (using P55C MSRs)
- updated version of the CPUID instruction page (with all new details)

and much more. Also I added three more long awaited goodies

- working FTP site (yes, finally it runs fine and provides 4P for you)
- autoresponders for several eMail addresses which speed up my replies

and last but not least

- Robert R. Collins' trip to the Intel headquarters in Santa Clara, CA

You can see pictures from that trip, after you click on my "news" logo
on the left side of my main page. If you don't do so, then the website
will be entered as usual. From the pictures you can return to the site
at any time.

I hope you will enjoy the news -- and raise the counters again! ;-)
