Will it make a lot of difference if I purchase the ISA instead of the EISA bus??? \ Thanx Confused ???? ---------- The 486 is a microprocessor with 32 data paths internally and to memory. The ISA bus is a 16 bit I/O bus. The EISA bus is a 32 bit I/O bus which, in addition to supporting ISA I/O cards, supports a 33 Mbyte/sec burst mode. Computer manufacturers build 486 computers with either ISA or EISA busses. As has been pointed out, a single user will not notice much difference between 486 ISA and EISA machines, everything else being equal, especially if the video controller is on a "local bus".
