Care should be used when relying on the cycle numbers in the manual. From experience they are best case, in a vacumn, numbers. Actual counts are dependant on what instructions preceed you and come after you in the instruction queue, generally making the numbers worse. We were generally able to reproduce the numbers in the manuals by surrounding the instruction with a queue full of NOP's both ahead of and after. Kevin Hall hplabs!hp-lsd!kevin
