485 cache module unreliable?

No luck in comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware, perhaps here?

I'm considering to add cache to my Hauppauge board; it accepts the 485
cache module (128K).

However, Hauppauge claims that the cache is extremely unreliable due
to design errors from Intel and strongly recommend against using it.

Is this true?
