Frank,

As Adobe Illustrator is launched, the system software allocates memory for
each font that you have installed. This memory is not deallocated until you
restart your Macintosh. I am suprised that you are losing 600K; it appears
you have numerous fonts installed. You can reduce this problem by using a
font utility such as Suitcase II or MasterJuggler to disable fonts until
they are needed.
