Re: can spacesave coexist with AutoDoubler? In article <1992Nov17.194649.26965@netcom.com> Leonard Rosenthol, leonardr@netcom.com writes: > Actually they can co-exist just fine together, though AD 2.0 gets >along better with SpaceSaver than AD 1.0.x (due to a change in handling of >DD Method A/B files). > > Should you choose to run both (for whatever reason), you DEFINATELY >only want to run one of them in "background/Idle-Time compression" mode. > Leonard, I tried this and ran into a big problem. Attempting to expand a Compressed (with spacesaver) item resulted in a file "owned" by DiskDoubler that was in fact the real file correctly expanded.. Basically you can't do it! (at least not with using Labels etc) I put this to both Aladdin and FGS tech support and the result was a statement that "we're looking into making them compatible" or something similar. As I said I'd REALLY like them to work together! My problem WAS with V1.07i of AutoDoubler - I may try it with V2.0i - anyone else have experience of this?? Cheers, Ian. All my views are my own and not those of my company, wife, friends, relations and dog.
