I was asked for a summary of Connectix PowerBook Utilities.

Battery management and AC Power management:
    Set rest processor interval
Set spin down hard drive interval
    Set dim backlighting interval
    Set sleep interval

Hot Keys
    Key commands to
        spin down the hard drive
        toggle the backlight
make the backlight dimmer (doesn't work well on PB160)
        make the backlight brighter (ditto)
to put the computer to sleep
        to locate cursor

LCD Saver
Screen saver for LCD screen. Doesn't work on PB160 and 180.
        Fix in progress.

Display
Displays in the menu bar such things as battery life (hours and
minutes), % battery power remaining, current CPU speed (for
PB160, 25 MHz, 16 MHz, resting), date, and time.

Indicators
Graphic battery indicator in menu bar that shows how much battery
        life is left.
A caps lock indicator that replaces Apple's. Can inactivate the
        caps lock key completely.
Warnings for disk spindown and sleep countdown.

Security
Require a password to wake up PowerBook from sleep or after a
        restart.
Or use a graphic; you make the graphic, choose a place to click
to start computer; can make it harder by pressing keys at
        the same time.
The security is not really secure; to get around it, you just restart
the computer with a startup disk in the floppy drive.

Panic
Displays a PICT graphic when someone is looking over your shoulder.
Handy when you are playing a game and the boss walks in.

Cursor
Change the I-bar cursor (makes it thicker so you can see it more
       easily.
Locate cursor (flashes a big circle around the cursor when you
       lose it).

Keyboard Power
Can activate menus by pressing keys rather than using trackball.
Can click on buttons in dialog boxes by pressing on keys rather
        than using trackball.

Instant Wake
Eliminates or delays ADB startup and Network startup routines
        when waking up the computer.

Instant sleep
Can use a key combination or click in one corner of screen to
        put the PowerBook to sleep.

$49 at MacConnection. Latest version is 1.0i.
