I was wondering if there is any decent inventory packages for the
macintosh at a reasonable price ( less than $500) or database programs
that allow basic statistical analysis, such as determining cost of total
inventory.

I have a weekend business selling comicbooks that I want to buy a
computer to keep records. I am trying to decide between getting an IBM
or Mac. My preference is a mac because I use that at my full time job,
but most inventory applications are written for the IBM. I know I can
do what I want with Dbase IV and a lot of programming to manipulate the
data. I am not familiar enough with Macintosh software to know if
anything similar exists and whether it would be easier or more difficult
to use that Dbase IV. Thanks for any help.

Amy
