MacX help: compiling Lsim fonts

If anyone can give me some assistance with compiling lsim fonts for use
with MacX I would greatly appreciate it.  There are two types of fonts,
those with .ff and .fb extensions.  MacX offers the choice to compile bdf
fonts, but not much more.
