Even in :last year's "bug ridden" version, I had no difficulty in using the :package and I even thought there were some improvements! :Joseph Warden Joe, My expereince with the '91 MacInTax program was not good. I started with the early version and then upgraded to the (late) final version. Both versions caused numerous system "lock-ups" and generally misbehaved. When I tried to work with the customer support folks, I quickly discovered that they had various patch levels of the program used to attempt to solve different problems. It also turned out that the install order was effecting the type of problem displayed. Also, the Geneva font supplied with the program was in some way corrupted and caused problems with the ribbon display in Word 5 (fixed when I reinstalled the Apple Genevea fonts). Finally, the MacInTax package was unable to convert the federal info into the PA forms. (Forms which, it turns out, were not approved by PA - but which were SOLD by ChipSoft.) All in all, the troubles with the program were in very large part responsible for my having to file for an extension and later pay some interest. Due to my many well documented problems with the program (documented by my $$$ calls to their help line and to their sending me a few "patched" versions) I ultimately got a full refund. MacInTax "cost" me an unforgiveable amount of valuable time! ChipSoft will have to prove that they've recovered from their mistakes before I will use MacInTax again. And, yes I did read the instructions :-). -- Martin S.
