There are 2 C++ compilers for the Mac. Apple's C++ and Zortech (now a Symantec
company) C++. Both need MPW. ZC++ is available from Symantec. Apple's C++ is
available thru APDA, as is MPW.

Beyond that, the rumor mill has been churning out stories of a Think C++
standalone ever since Symantec bought Zortech. I would be VERY reluctant about
going out to get MPW and either C++ compiler now given that there is a pretty
good chance of a standalone Think C++ RSN. Not that MPW is so awful, but If you
already have Think C, or even if you don't, it will almost certainly be cheaper
and less demanding of hardware to wait for the Think C++
