I'm another "used MacInTax for 5+ years and really HATED what ChipSoft
did to it" user.  Let's see if I can remember my specific problems:

  1) Duplicate erroneous forms listed in the menus.  One was really
linked to my 1040, the other was out in the ozone.
  2) When requested to "print all" forms, only about the first 5 came
out.  I had to individually pull up each form I had filled out and print it.

All the stuff they added was completely useless to me.  I don't need them
to "walk me through" - I got a K-2 from my investments and just want
to pull up the "put your K-2 stuff here" form and go on.  I didn't
understand the value of the file drawer or other nifty icons they added
to clutter up the screen.

I'm still undecided about this year's taxes.    Even if MacInTax has
gotten better, I am SOOOO mad about last year's version that I just
don't want to give them another penny.
