DVIM72-MAC Problems -- merging PICTS with .dvi files

I am using OzTeX and DVIM72-MAC.  I've tried unsuccessfully to merge
PICT files into my latex documents.  When using OzTeX, the merge is
successful. That is, the PICT file is merged correctly.

However DVIM72-MAC does not merge the PICT at all. I have the PICT
file in the same directory as my dvi file and the command I use
to merge the files is: \special{pict=<filename>.pict}

If anyone can give me some clues as to what the problem might be,
please do.
