I had a similar problem with my Duo 230, my solution was to make a copy of the
disktools disk, then to remove the Finder and to put "Norton Utilities" app
on there - but rename it "Finder" (I had to use ResEdit to do it and mess with
the Finder info until it looked to the system like the Finder does -
same type & creator (all this was done on another machine btw - 'cos the
Duo's HD was trashed and I needed Norton to recover it). I managed then to
convice the Finder that this was a system disk by moving the System & my
pretend-Finder out and then back into the System folder. This produced a
disk which I can boot my Duo with, which starts up Norton Utilities directly,
and which I used to repair my harddisk.
