A few packages that you might find helpful that spring immediately to
mind are: 

1. "Help" -- analyzes your software configuration and reports any
potential
   problems, such as System Extension conflicts, software
incompatibilities, etc.
2. "MacEKG" -- tests individual components in a Macintosh and lets you
know
   if any of the chips, processors, etc. aren't working as they should
3. "Peace of Mind" -- similar function to MacEKG
4. "Snooper" -- again, another hardware testing program. Snooper also
comes with
   a NuBus board so that you can test a machine even if it won't start up
normally.

available
from the major mail order vendors.
