One thing you might want to try is adjusting the setting on one of the control panels that deals with the serial port, whose name I don't remember offhand -- probably "Serial Switch" or something clever. I believe some MIDI equipment has difficulty communicating with the serial port at the higher speeds a 950 is capable of, and this control panel adjusts the speed, thus resolving the problem. It is part of System 7 and should be on your intaller disks, if it isn't currently in your control panels folder.
