It will boot anything up to 7.5.5.  If you use system 7.x, make sure
you have the memory maxed out (a Plus goes up to 4M).

I personally recommend 6.0.8, however.  7.5.5 is much slower on that old
hardware.

This assumes, of course, that you have a hard drive.  If you're booting
from floppies, then stick with system 6.  System 7 will boot from
floppies, but it's painful to actually do anything with such a system.

You can download disk images for system 6.0.8 (4 800K disk images).
You'll need a Mac with an 800K-compatible floppy drive in order to make
diskettes from the images.  (A Plus doesn't support 1.44M floppy drives)

You can also download the installer for system 7.5.3 (a 19-part disk
image) and the 7.5.5 updater from there.  You will need a Mac with a
hard drive (possibly your Plus) in order to use the installer.
