I'm using 8.6 on my 6100 - it runs fast [faster than earlier systems] and is stable. Every system before 8.1 is a bad choice - it simply doesn't support HFS+. And in general, I'll say: forget about what is said on the software packet. I'm running 8.6 and Office 98 - without problems. In my experience it's not the clock that's the bottlenect, it's the amount of RAM available. 72 M + 256 L2 cache, 60 MHz and a 601 processor [+ 32 M on my Apple DOS Compatibility Card, 486dx, 66 MHz]. I even think it runs faster on this 60 MHz computer than on my PowerBook 5300ce. 48M RAM and 127 MHz. 603e processor. -- Per Erik Rnne Vejlebrovej 40, 2. mf./DK-2635 Ishj, DENMARK, EUROPEAN UNION Tlf. + fax: +45 43 73 00 15, mobil +45 28 23 09 92.
