Avid Cinema & B&W G3 400 - advice please?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.

I'm looking for a cheap solution to bringing some non-digital (composite)
video from my VHS player into my G3400, which a co-worker will then
convert into some streaming video for me. I've looked at some of the
reviews of the Avid Cinema product, and Avid's page on the product, and
they make it sound like I don't need an additional video card to use it
with my Mac.

Can anyone confirm that this is true? If so, how do I input the video? I
can't use firewire, since the source video isn't digital in the first
place. Does Avid Cinema ship with some kind of adapter?

I realise that there are a lot better solutions around for editing video,
like Aurora Fuse and Miro Motion etc, but I'm looking for a _cheap_
solution. I don't aim to be doing a lot of video work after this one
project.

Any suggestion would be most welcome.

TIA

Julie
