I guess long-term depends on what you're planning to use it for long-term. I have both the Avid Cinema USB and the XLR8 Interview products. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but I'd pick the Interview if I had to choose only one. Interview is more flexible in terms of how I can use it. I can easily move the footage into Premiere and work with it there. I can use it in After Effects as well. Avid Cinema footage can be moved, but it's not quite as simple because you capture in Avid's format and not in QuickTime. The software that comes with Interview (Strata VideoShop) is pretty good, and you can upgrade to the latest version for under $100. For my money, Interview is the way to go for low-cost capture and manipulation for content targeted at the web. Kent
