While I don't particularly care for ICQ on a personal basis, you should
know that it actually runs less poorly on a 68040 than it does on a 486.
There are a couple of people with whom I keep in touch using it and I have
way less latency on my low-end 8500 than they do on their high-end
Pentiums.

The folks at Mirabilis are notoriously slow about integrating features
into the Mac clients, though.
