If I save a teachtext file that is 396 bytes, why does it register as 33K
when saved to disk ??
Is that my hard disk driver (Silver Lining v5.6), the program (teachtext)
or the Operating system (Sys7.5) ?

Same goes for a Microsoft word document.. The actual Document is 2048
bytes, but it takes up 17K on disk.  That is wasteful..

BBedit takes up 33K for 896bytes of data..

If I take this a step further and look in my prefs folder, most files are
17K, but if I check the actual size of the data in the files, most are
less than 1K..  if I do a "get info" on my prefs folder, I get:

6.2Mb on disk, (4,440,680 bytes used) for 160 items.

That is a waste of over 2 megs..  No wonder hard disks have increased in
size, our disks are being consumed by empty files and wasting space away..

Does anyone know why this is happening and/or a good cure for it (please
don't say use spacesaver or diskdoubler !)
